Good idea.
Glad I thought of it.

Innovation Tools' latest newsletter hit my in-box today. Always a favorite, I dove right in and checked out the featured links.

An article titled "The Romance of Creativity" by Mitch Ditkoff of IdeaChampions.com caught my eye. Nice concept.

...And when I say "nice concept" -- I mean MY concept. I published basically the same content in a February (Valentine's Day!) blog post.

So, what do you think --
Homage or Hijacking?

Don: The short answer to your question: "Homage of Hijacking" is NEITHER. I wrote "The Romance of Creativity," (the piece you read at Innovation Tools) in 1998. The article was published in a workbook called "Banking on Innovation" eight years ago. I don't think either of us are the first people on the planet to have written about this concept. I'm sure there are many others. Rollo May, in his book, "The Courage to Create" also writes about this phenomenon. The first time I read your blog entry about this topic was a few days ago. Be well! How's THAT for proof of concept!

You were so in love with your idea that you didn't even consider other possibilities.

Interesting.

Hee-Hee... Well, THAT and I don't mind stirring up a little controversy from time to time (imagined or not!)

Every so often I like to make sure people are still READING what I am writing. ;)
